    Description

This is a 5 1/2 inch child's blue transferware plate from a set by Charles Allerton & Sons of Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire. It's one of several patterns featuring little May or Mae. The mark is a round belt with only the pattern name and number
"May 753", and it dates from before 1891. There are 2 hairline cracks on the back - neither is visible on the front. The piece has typical stray bits of blue glaze and small bubbles in the clear glaze.
