Ford Toploader 31 spline 427 428 429 4 speed Transmission.
Big 1-3/8" input shaft, 31 spline output shaft, 24" long Toploader

Beautifully restored and rebuilt with all new forward gears, reverse gears, input shaft, mainshaft, bearing retainer, cluster gear, countershaft, Torque Lock synchronizer assemblies, HD Max Load bearings, gaskets, seals, tailhousing bushing, and speedometer drive gear.
Cases were cleaned with extra fine glass beads and painted cast iron grey.
Gear oil is applied by hand to internal surfaces of cases and all internal parts to prevent surface rust in case the trans should sit for awhile before installation.
Trans will come without an ID tag so you can put on your own original or new reproduction tag of your choosing. Final assembly will be completed when buyer informs of rear axle ratio for correct speedometer gear selection and choice of close or wide ratio gears.
