For sale is a Factory Replica of the Close Ratio Muncie Rock CrusherFour Speed Transmission typically used in High Performance 1965 to 1974 Corvette`s, Camaros, Chevelles, Nova`s, El Camino`s, Impala`s, Oldsmobiles and Pontiacs.
Also included are Hand Fitted Synchronizer Sliders and Hubs. The hand fitted sliders/hubs
improves up and down shifting quality through all RPM ranges.
This transmission will fit all 57 thru 74 GM products and
is a rare opportunity to own a virtually brand new Factory Replica of the infamous M-22 Close Ratio Rock Crusher Transmission. This transmission includes new internal parts including a completely new gearset.
This transmission is a direct replacement for a Borg Warner T10, Saginaw, M-20 or M-21 with no other changes necessary to swap into your vehicle. If you are replacing a 27 spline Muncie M-20 or 21 your existing shifter will swap over. This is about as close to a factory supplied transmission as you can get. #3851325
1" Case Assembly, #3857584 27 Spline Mainshaft Extension Assembly with Passenger side speedo, #3831707 Shift Cover Assembly and Aftermarket Bearing Retainer.
Do NOT purchase a transmission with 50 year old factory shift arms, the aluminum side cover bores are worn and the shift arms wobble around in the bores of the side cover. Loose and wobbly shift arms may leak and possibly lock in gear.
DO NOT purchase a transmission without French Locks on the front bearing retainer, there is a good chance the bearing retainer will loosen from throw out bearing vibration, only GM type French Locks on my Transmissions!
DO NOT purchase an M22 without a drain plug, you will have no way to effectively remove all of the gear lube including metallic particles that will continue to circulate and eventually lead to premature failure.
All transmission cases have the Countershaft bores re-bored using a parallel boring process where the counterbore and the mainshaft are truly parallel. This process also produces a virgin counterpin opening thereby ensuring a tight, leak free press fit.
