We were sold out, we just got a few more in. These are likely the last few brand new transmissions in existence for Mk4!  New OEM 4 Speed automatic transmission for 1.8T liter VWs (see details below). Transmission Code: EPL (same as ECP/EPC - final drive of 4.53. This transmission has never been installed in a vehicle. Pick it up now for less than what many used transmissions sell for!
Will likely also fit DVH, ELU & FDC 1.8T transmission codes.
Because the fluid has been sitting for many years, we recommend flushing the fluid before install. We can provide 5L of OEM ATF1 for a discounted rate of with purchase of transmission.
Fits the Following**:
1998-2005 VW New Beetle 01M 4sp A/T with transmission code EPL, ECP or EPC
1999.5-2004 VW Jetta 01M 4sp A/T with transmission code EPL, ECP or EPC
1999.5-2006 VW Golf 01M 4sp A/T with transmission code EPL, ECP or EPC
NOTE: These are Euro 1.8T. For these to fit on a North American 01M you have to do the following:
1. Swap out both drum speed sensors
2. Swap out linkage, remove breather and plug
3. Drill out for breather in same location as it is on old trans (use air and vacuum constantly to ensure no shavings enter trans!), tap in breather in new trans
4. Measure output flanges and swap out (sizing is different)
5. Take old trans mount, set on top of new trans mount area so you can mark spot where holes should be with a sharpie (sharpie fits exactly in holes on the old trans mount and automatically centers the spot on the new mount area;
do not use pre-drilled holes because mount will not fit
)
6. After marking each one, pre-drill each hole 1 1/2 inches deep
7. Used vacuum and air chuck to keep holes clear of shavings
8. Tap each hole with 10mm 125 thread pitch tap
9. Install trans
10. On dog-bone mount under trans, install mount, use tie strap to align engine and trans in proper position to mark for drilling
11. After marked, remove mount, pre-drill each hole 1 1/2 inches deep and tap each hole with 10mm 125 pitch tap (make sure to use safety glasses as you will be drilling above you)
12. Reinstall dog-bone mount
13. Secure with bolts
14. Fill trans
15. Set kick down adaption with scan tool and test drive
