Oldsmobile 442 Factory 3 Speed Hurst Shifter Ford HD FoMoCo Transmission GTO GM

This is an oddball that most people don’t know about. Years ago when I heard discussions about GM muscle cars having Ford transmissions I couldn’t believe it but evidently during the early 1960s GM didn’t have a 3 Speed Transmission that could handle the new torque loads of big block V8s so they reached out to Ford Motor Company for help and here is the answer. It is a Ford Toploader style transmission that is super strong and found there way into Muscle Cars Like 442 and GTO when the owner didn’t want the optional 4 Speed Transmission. The input shaft 10 splines are the same as other GM 3 speeds and Muncie 4 Speed. This one was the original transmission from I believe a 1966 442 that an older gentleman removed decades ago. It is complete with the original Hurst 442 Shifter and linkage still in place. On the inside it appears to be in excellent condition with very sharp engagement teeth. It spins smooth as glass and shifts easily in and out of all gears. I have been told these are super strong and have desirable ratios and last forever. I will disassemble shifter before shipping but will make sure all hardware is included and pack carefully. Thanks for looking.
