Minton and his daughter Miss Nola Minton bought two Saddlebred mares.  Flashing Glory and Gladys Gilbert sired by Jean Val Jean for pleasure and business.  Miss Nola won the ladies 5 gaited class in 1922 with Flashing Glory.  Then they got the good stallion The Feudist. In 1924 Robert McCray stepped into the stirrups to guide the Minton Hickory entrants at the Kentucky State Fair.   Vendetta was the World’s Champion 5 gaited mare and reserve in the Championship class…..”
