    Description

    This is a nice pressed glass Master open salt or salt cellar.  It is shown as Open Salt #2836 in "5,000 Open Salts  A Collector's Guide" by Heacock and Johnson.  They indicate it is Circa 1890.
    This piece measures about 2-1/2 inches in diameter and stands about 1-1/4 inch tall.  It sits on layered pointed hobnails or buttons and has a rounded rim.  It is an old piece with wear and some smaller chips around the rim, and two of the hobnails on the base are chipped.  Please see photographs for details.
