10 South African Rand banknote (van Riebeeck 1978 Issue). They are part of the withdrawn South African Rand banknotes series. The South African Reserve Bank started issuing these 10 South African Rand banknotes in 1978. They were withdrawn from circulation in 1993.
This apartheid era banknote of 10 South African Rand features Cape Town’s founding father, the Dutchman Jan van Riebeeck. On the reverse side of the green-coloured old 10 ZAR bill are a bull and a ram, representing South Africa’s agricultural industry.
Circulated, very nice condition, very crispy.
